Last Minute Chancing!

Hey I'm a Jewish guy that goes to an extremely competitive public school on Long Island. Vanderbilt's my #1 and I applied EDI to Peabody for the HOD program, and I would really appreciate some input.

SAT I: 710 CR, 690 M, 720 W
SAT II: Bio 660 (Fresh Year)

GPA: Not sure exactly because of grade conversion to a hundred scale made for this year.
They calculated a 94.364 but I think it was a little inflated so out of 4.0 I probably got around a 3.5 (Prob weakest part of my app but I think my courseload might equal that out).

Interview: Good, and I think he was impressed by my ability to do the Rubik's Cube (Yes I do walk around with a Rubik's cube in my pocket).

Recs: All around good, and I also got one from my principal which hopefully means something.

Essay: I think it was good, and it was about Kanye West so you have to figure it was at least interesting.

Courseload: Soph Year: AP Euro: 5
Junior Year: AP Psych: 5
AP Stat: 5
AP English Comp: 4
AP American: 4
AP Bio: 5
Senior Year: AP Calc AB
AP Physics B
AP Gov/Econ
AP English Lang
(All Other classes were Honors if possible)

E.C.: Model Congress
Drama Club with a lead in the latest production that we spend about 20 hrs a week on for two months per production
Tri-M
Vice-Prez of Stock Market Club
Eclectic Electric which is an electric string performance that I was lead vocalist in
Tennis

Honors: Tri-M Induction
Model Congress award at Columbia
AP Scholar with Distinction.

Volunteer: Not that much, just taught some basketball/baseball clinics to little kids.

Jobs: Worked as a counselor at my summer camp this past summer
I work at a store during the year as what you would call a "day laborer."

Duh, you're getting in.

I know everybody who applied early is getting pretty nervous right now. I'm responding to try to help calm your nerves. All I can say is that my daughter applied two years ago and at that time, kids with statistics like yours got in ED and RD to CAS. So if there is any truth to the rumor that Peabody is less competitive, then you probably will get in. If you don't, it won't be because you weren't a strong enough applicant.

well thanks a lot...part of my nervousness though comes from the fact that I'm 1 of 5 kids applying ED and I'm probably not the strongest candidate.

You have a pretty good shot for Peabody. Good luck! How fast can you solve a rubik's cube?

BASEZ IS IN!!!

WOOoooot

just checking in....slinks off

i can solve it in about a minute
