Well as many of you may know, a majority of applications are due by Jan. 15 and I have yet to even ask any teachers for a recommendation or fill out the transcript or apply anywhere in general.

I was wondering if anyone here could please help me out as to what I should start doing, because the deadline is coming closer and closer and I'm ready to take every last desperate measure to make it.

I'm trying to get into George Mason. I've already received letters from them saying I am eligbible for acceptance.

some info:
Middle eastern male from Virginia
GPA: 3.0
SAT: 930
top 35%

FBLA clubs
Varsity Wrestling Team

not very much... but do you think I'll be able to get in with just applying without recommendations since it's alittle too late to ask for them? What else can I do to better my chances in the short time I have left from now until Jan. 15?

THANKS!!!

It's not too late to ask for recommendations. Some schools will accept recs up to 10 days or so after the deadline for apps. I would call the university, ask them their policy on recs, and proceed with the rest. (Also, consider applying to rolling admissions schools.)

Good luck.

If I miss the deadlines and am not accepted because of recommendations.... then what? :( would that mean I would have to wait a whole year to reapply properly?

bump! I'm planning on applying today.... If anyone could please help me with some useful tips to better my chances... it would be GREATLY appreciated! :)

Oh, and forgot to include... graduating with an advanced HS diploma.

The apps say that everything must be in by the deadline, but the only things that really matter are the application and the application fee. Get that in and request that your high school transcript, GC rec, teacher recs, and SAT/ACT score reports be sent. Don't particularly delay in requesting that everything be sent, but it does not have to be in by the deadline.

They won't reject an application because some supplemental info like recs come in late. If they get to a point where something is needed to go forward, they will contact your GC or you and try to find out where it is.
