I have a few mnemonics to remember certain things in AP Psych… if you guys have any others to share last minute, I think we’d all benefit:</p>
Piaget’s Development Stages: “Stupid Piaget Creates Fuss” (Sensorimotor, Preoperational, Concrete Operations, Formal Operations)</p>
Freud’s Psychsexual Stages: “Owls Always Play Late Games” (Oral, Anal, Phallic, Latency, Genital).</p>
Erikson’s Stages: It’s a song, to the tune of the Mickey Mouse song (M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E): “MSG, IRI, la la la, SD”. Each letter represents the second part of the stage (the negative thing), in order:
trust vs. MISTRUST
autonomy vs. SHAME and doubt
initiative vs. GUILT
industry vs. INFERIORITY
identity vs. ROLE confusion
intimacy vs. ISOLATION
generativity vs. STAGNATION
integrity vs. DESPAIR</p>
Remember the difference between proactive and retroactive interference: “PORN”
Proactive: Old memories interfere with new information (PO). Retroactive: New information interferes with old memories(RN) – PROACTIVE OLD, RETROACTIVE NEW</p>

hypothalamus deals with hunger and thirst. HypoThalamus- Hunger Thirst
Hippocampus deals with memory. campus, like a college campus is where you’re gonna have lots of…err… crazy memories.
Left hemisphere- language – both begin with l
The Big five spell out OCEAN – Openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, neuroticism
andd other stuff… haha</p>

the mnemonics I create all you need to do is submit your lists to me, as soon
as you know you are going to need them, for future recall and I can work on
them ahead of the exams and post them.</p>
