last minute SAT advice

Hey to all,

I have an issue and am not sure what to do...I've been practicing with Barron's 2400 sat book, it helps with writing, yay for that, but math and crit. reading still suck...and i need around a 650 in each section to satisfy myself (highest was a 610 in writing..meh) Any last minute prep advice since this is my last sat i can ever take b/c i'm a senior, and i still won't improve w/math or reading? advice or input would be greatly appreciated!!

still panicking! anyone?

well, im taking sats in a week as well and ive found out that taking 3 seperate single tests helps more than taking the test in one sitting.

oh that sounds good, masterchief.

waste of time and money. work like crazy now and try and boost your scores, taking it 3 times will not make that huge a difference (plus some unis dont look at compesate score).

my advice---don't panic and go the test center w/ 100% confidence but Bkrful of not having complacency. Use BB efficiently right now.

If Barron's isn't working for you for reading, get a different book. I have Cracking the SAT and it's very good for reading.

trans-siberian, I LOVE THAT USERNAME! (transsiberrian orchestra kicks major arse.) anyways, besides the point, barron's is excellent...but idk how much it's helping ya know/ I used the entire blue book can't get a new one dad says...so i'm screwed, until i take the real test and see how i do...but this IS THE LAST chance for me to get anywhere in the 1900s+...lol

Have you seen them in concert? That was one of my Christmas gifts this year. AWESOME. I had 7th row seats on the floor of the coliseum in Richmond. It snowed on us! Killer guitar, and we had the original singers (they travel with 2 separate orchestras playing different cities at the same time).

omg they were amazing! (yes i saw them at the mellon in pittsburgh!) And I'm jewish but SHH dont tell anyone lol. yeah their electric violins were rockin!!

is barron's helpful? I've heard that the content was harder, hence, irrelevant for use (harder doesn't mean better). How true is this? Or does it entirely depend on the user? btw, I'm using the blue book and gruber's.

I think it ENTIRELY depends on the user if we talk about the SAT.

Jeremy...that's a trip. I am not particularly religious and don't get into their lyrics, but I love the music and the musicianship. They're just so incredibly talented.

kevster...I have heard that Barron's is a lot harder too and therefore not as useful as it could be. I didn't get it myself. See how you do first with BB and Gruber's.

If you do harder SAT type questions your a lot better prepared then if you do easier ones.

I think what he means is that the hardest questions are harder than the SAT hardest questions. (Make sense?) Essentially Barrons questions are too hard to be on the SAT test. Hardest questions doesn't mean you will be prepared for the easier "harder" questions because you may not be prepared for the type of question that is to be asked. Plus, there is such a large amount of math topics that can be asked, why waste time on questions that you know won't be asked on the exam?
