For some schools, they say the last testing date for EA & ED is November. Now the thing is, Early application submissions are due around early November or Oct 31. And then sat scores will come out around December. Do you honestly think they will leave your application alone until December without looking at it? And when they look at it, they will already have thoughts concerning you as an applicant. But then when your scores come out, whether good or bad, they will most likely change the Mind of the admission officer. Which is bad. So do you REALLY think one should go for EA or ED if they are going to write their sat in November?
It depends on the school deadline and application policy, also if you have previous score submitted or not. In most cases, November score would be late. If you have previous score submitted to make your application complete and your new score entered into the system early enough, then it may be included in the evaluation. However, it is not likely that they will wait till December to go through your application.
Some schools (but not the majority), notify EA applicants in January, so they can have more time to get scores. If you apply EA or ED and they don’t have a score on file, they may look at the rest of your app, but will leave the decision until after they have the scores. But if you have a first set of scores on file, they will see those. The downside you will face, is that you won’t have time to review your scores, before the school gets them. So potentially they are getting scores you don’t want them to see
^ If you don’t have any score on file by the submission deadline for EA/ED, they will not even evaluate your application and simply defer to RD. They will just consider your EA/ED incomplete. The score submission deadline may be the same as the EA/ED deadline or after a grace period of 2-4 weeks.
The November test scores will be released two weeks after the test on November 4 according to the CB website. Not too much of a stretch.
