Late "Additional Information"?

Sorry if this seems a bit arbitrary, but I submitted my application to a university about a week ago. At the time, I didn’t really feel comfortable discussing something that has greatly affected me, so I left the “additional information” portion empty. I now regret doing so, though I did submit the app on the due date. Are schools usually understanding of such circumstances and would it reflect negatively on me to try to submit what would have gone in that portion of the Common App? Thank you!

Of course you can add additional information! Every admissions office I have ever worked with had several tiers of administration. The person who receives your file (usually the admissions assistant or admissions coordinator) and adds the “additional information” to it wouldn’t even be the person evaluating it, anyway.
