Hi, I’m an international student applying for regular decision this year.
Two of the colleges I’m applying to have deadline Jan 1.
I’ve completed the two REQUIRED recommendation letter for both colleges, and I’ve requested an additional recommendation letter from another school teacher.
However, the teacher was currently on holidays and could only send the recommendation earliest noon Jan 2, Singapore local time.
So is it ok that I submit my Commonapp within the colleges’ stipulated deadlines (i.e. Jan 1), and ask the teacher to upload required materials a day later? Or must the teacher upload that additional letter of recommendation on 1st Jan?
you can ask your teacher to email his/her recommendation letter to your admission counselor and he/she will add it your file.
Alternatively, she can just upload it. Almost every college gives a couple of days grace period for recs and other items not in the applicant’s control.
