Late recommendation letter?

<p>So I just found out I need 1 more recommendation letter, and its winter break. I emailed one of my teachers (that I'm close with) via his work email explaining my situation and apologizing for the late notice and what not. </p>

<p>Problem is, he hasn't replied yet, and I'm getting worried. </p>

<p>Someone told me that recommendation letters have extra time? It's possible in my eyes because apparently you can send scores from test dates that are after the deadline.</p>

<p>I'll see my teacher Jan 6 so hopefully he'll finish it that week. So, what if its a week late? Does it go through?</p>

<p>Email/call the specific colleges you are applying to. Some are more lenient with this sort of thing than others. I don’t think anyone on this forum will be able to give you a definite answer unfortunately.</p>
