Late Confirmation Letter

So I was accepted to all of the in-state schools I applied to and I had made my decision and thought that I was content. However, the past few weeks I have decided that I instead want to go to another one of the schools I was accepted to.

The only problem now is that the school I now want to go to had a deadline to accept or decline of May 1. Now I need to send in my deposit check with a letter saying why I changed my mind.

My question to all of you is should I treat this letter the same as a waitlist letter or not? What should I include in it to give me the best chances of getting in again?

Thanks in advance,

Pick up the phone, and call the place you prefer, and ask if it is not to late to change your mind about attending. They will tell you if it is possible, and if so, what you need to do.
