hey guys, i completely f*d myself over. I got into UCI, did my SIR today...and I thought I had time for financial aid because at my CC I always remember people filing it up until the last day to get their aid...so i thought that going to UCI in the fall that I had ALOT of time...so I lagged it. the priority deadline was March...I turned it in June....please..lol...how screwed am I? thanks!

anyone? =[

From what I’ve read on the UC’s website, late filers qualify only for federal aid. So, only Pell Grant, and federal loans.

I am kind of in the same boat as you :/

It really depends on the school’s financial aid office-they use the FAFSA information to see what you can qualify for. You need to call UCI and find out

I filed late too; mainly because I didn’t think I would qualify for anything anyway. Now I wish I filed on time just to find out!

All I got was a federal loan and it took about a week to show up after I submitted my FAFSA.

C’mon son, how do you apply late for FAFSA?! is written all over the schools and they even announce it on the radio.

If you are low income the main disadvantage of applying late is that no CalGrant, that can be worth up to 12k a year.
If I were you i would go to UCI financial aid and try to appeal the process. I mean really appeal, make up the wildest story and sell it, I mean it has to be an OSCAR performance. Try it those extra 12k really do help.
