Hi everyone,
I’m an international student from the UK (Northern Ireland) who’s applying to Columbia. Around a week and a half ago (19th March) I was contacted for an interview by a Columbia alumnus, and I had the interview the next day. However, I was under the impression that interviews would be wrapped up by the end of February at the latest. I realise that in general getting an interview means little to nothing, but does anyone know why I would’ve been contacted so late?
In short, does this mean anything?
Thanks!
Similar thing happened to me. Yale alumni contacted me for an interview for March 22 which seemed extremely late in m perspective but later the interviewer sent me an email syaing that Yale requested it be done sooner. So now my interview is March 15th very close to march 30. Could this mean anything ?
It says on the website that whether or not you get an interview doesn’t affect your chance of admission. Logically, that means they don’t read the interview reports. So don’t worry about the timing of the interview.
They tell us alumni interviewers that our input is very valuable, etc., but I choose to believe what they tell applicants on the website.
