My son just mentioned a week or so ago that he wanted to apply to Arizona State after applying to nine schools early action and one early decision (Virginia Tech Engineering but he was deferred.) I encouraged him to apply before November 1st since that was the EA deadline and the deadline for many merit scholarship decisions. He’s been accepted to the engineering schools at George Mason, University of SC, WVU, and Ohio State…also James Madison University in-state. Nice academic scholarships at the OOS schools making tuition comparable to Virginia state schools.
I found the ASU Scholarship Estimator online and based on my son’s scores, it looks like he could qualify for a scholarship that would make ASU as affordable as some of the in-state and other OOS schools where he has been offered scholarships. The rankings for the engineering school also look a bit higher.
I could not find any early application deadline to qualify for the scholarship so just wondering if he applies before the Feb 1 deadline, should he be considered for an academic scholarship?
Also, does anyone know if transcripts and SAT/ACT needs to be received by Feb 1 or just application submitted by then with test scores and transcripts to follow. I reminded my son this is very last minute!
Thanks for any input/advice.
