Late scholarship offer--but is it too late for honors application?

D2 received a departmental scholarship offer from Science and Math yesterday (Friday Dec 11th) but she has not even applied to Auburn. Now that she’s interested in pre-med or pre-pharmacy, she’s wondering if it’s too late to apply to the Honor’s Program?? We’ve written the honors office but, of course, it’s the weekend, so that adds even more delay.

Anyone out there know AU’s policy on late apps to honors program? D2 is a National Merit semi-finalist and should be a finalists with her stats.

Also, is it too late to get in the nicer dorms or have we missed that train? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks so much.

The honors program app is due January 8th, I believe, so you’re not too late to apply for honors program.

I would send in the enrollment deposit now so you can get your letter with your code to apply for housing.

With Auburn having limited housing, it was worth spending the 200 nonrefundable enrollment deposit to get a better chance of housing if son does decide to attend. We can’t visit until February and by that time, housing may be full.

Housing office advised me to choose any place in the village as building preference if you want to get the super suite dorms. There’s a choice of communities, so you should indicate village, then maybe quad, then the hill. The quad also houses honors students, though it’s not the super suites.

For the building preference, we chose Talons, the honors dorm, then Aubie, then Tiger. There are other village buildings, so your preference. Check out the campus map to see location of village and other housing.
