So I am currently trying to submit a late SIR to attend UCSB after realizing at orientation for my current school that I had made a mistake. I understand the process for late SIR involves the application essentially being reevaluated but since I was a top applicant and honors program student with around a 4.34 uc gpa, I would think this would help me. Does anyone know if there is any information about how to increase my chances of being accepted for late enrollment (such as information to provide in my letter to the director of admissions)?

Go there in person to speak to them, be honest about your situation and don’t be cocky about getting in mainly because of GPA.

You’d have to appeal. Submit an essay and everything because you’re a couple months late. Talk to the office, like Matt4200 said.

It’d be in your best interest to contact UCSB’s Office of Admissions directly. Only in extreme situations will they accept an SIR this late. You will most likely be asked to submit to the formal appeal process with letters, transcripts, etc.
