Late start for honors courses

I have a bit of a dilemma. During my freshman and part of sophomore year, I did not fully realize my full potential as a good student. I have been and currently am literally getting straight A's but I only have one advanced course this year (chem-not honors). However, next year and senior year I'm taking much harder classes that I should have built up to from 8th grade. My question is this: Will colleges look to see if my classes early on in my high school career were not at the same level as the kids I'm currently taking much harder classes with now? Does it matter how I got to the same amount of AP's as the kids that have been taking honors courses the past two years? I'm working extra hard this year to get in as many hard classes as possible but I'm still worried colleges will overlook my easier classes in 9th and 10th grade in favor of the kids who have taken honors courses all along.

bumpppppppppppp

A lot of colleges look for an upward trend so you should be fine!

Don’t sweat this. Our HS doesn’t even allow honors classes before Jr year, and preference for any AP or college level classes is always given to upperclassman.
