Greetings from Choate,

As of Friday April 16th, here's the waitlist picture-I'll try to be as specific as possible.

Day students:

Our enrollment is full. While still possible, it is unlikely we will go to the Waitlist.

9th Grade Boarding:

Our enrollment is full. While still possible, it is unlikely we will go to the Waitlist.

Upper Forms (10th & 11th grade and PG)

We are currently at our enrollment levels. However, if enrollment shifts take place in the next several weeks an opening could occur. I would classify these occurrences as "less likely" or unpredictable, but they do take place in a typical admission cycle. Enrollment shifts include many variables somewhat unique to boarding schools, and in some cases unique to Choate. For example, a current boarding student may decide to be a day student because their family has moved close to Choate, or a current Choate student may decide to participate in one of Choate's programs abroad next fall, creating a space.

Essentially, there are many factors that could influence these shifts in enrollment. We don't want to create false hope, but rather give you enough information to help you plan for next year.

Our Waitlist will remain open until the end of June. This will likely be the last update until then. If you wish to be removed from the Waitlist, please let us know.

Thanks again for your patience throughout the process.

Sincerely,

Ray Diffley III
Director of Admission
