For those people who are still on one or more waitlists, could others please post here the schools that they have heard from that are taking kids from the waitlist.

I understand Hotchkiss and Choate have been "over accepted" if that is a word.. and there will be very little movement on their wait lists.

In the three years I have been on CC, I recall one person who paid her enrollment fee/contract for St. Andrews school and on the next day St. Paul's called her an offered her a spot.

hotchkiss - overenrolled..it's on our newspaper

Yeah, same at Choate...I heard from my teacher that Choate is not planning on going to the waitlist AT ALL. Saying that makes me feel really bad esp. because I know there are so many great people out there on this board that wanted Choate. If it is any consolation, applying for 10th grade is always an option. It shows the school you really want to be there and the pool is a lot less competitve, even though there are fewer slots. It's definately worth a try--I know of several people who came in 10th grade after being rejected for 9th.

does anyone else have "official" news of other schools that will not be going to waitlist?

Does anyone know about Exeter and the wait list situation?

My daughter knows two girls who Lawrenceville offered 9th grade admittance to last week who were originally waitlisted.

Brooks School closed the WL today .. they are full.

some kids from my cousins school also got off the waitlist for lawrenceville awhile ago

I heard that a lot of kids went to Peddie instead of Lawrenceville. Their new science center and science faculty are phenominal.

Deerfield is supposedly full and not planning to go to their wait list. Will be sending a letter out shortly. Apparently they'll keep the waitlist open until at least June, in case places become available in the next few months.

What about places like Lawrenceville and Andover?

Lawrenceville already took people off the waitlist and accepted them according to the posts in this thread. I don't know about Andover.

I think the only people who should answer the questions are those who have been in touch with the admissions offices. Otherwise this will just be more rumours.

"I think the only people who should answer the questions are those who have been in touch with the admissions offices. Otherwise this will just be more rumours"
um...i hvnt been talking with the admissions offices, but i dont think the stuff i saw on our official school newspaper would "just be more rumors"

To be clear, my info on Deerfield is first hand. My son is waitlisted and I spoke with their admissions office directly.

Yes, that is what I meant. And also information provided by current students at the school (bearcats this means you!) is very helpful.

Those acceptance to Andover said yes to 178 spots out of 171. So they aren't taking anybody.

This is directly from the Admissions Office (I feel like I'm the Senator and they're campaigning and this is saying: ____ approves this message).

What I am wondering about is whether this means that they will officially close the waitlist, or will they encourage people to hang on until June or later in case there is movement.
