Latin Minor - a little bit advantage ?

I'm a freshman and will major in chemisty and thinking about Latin as a minor.
I'm fluent in Spanish so applied for volunteering in a health center of
south america during this summer. now also doing some research in a lab.

Some says minors don't impress anyone in admissions,
and some says "yes, they do".
I know that we don't have to do something just to impress adcom,
but to increase the chance, I want to invest my time and passion
in something else.

Any advice will be appreciated.

If you're already fluent in Spanish, why not instead minor in that? Minoring in Latin certainly won't hurt you, but I doubt it would give you a distinct advantage over anyone else. If you're passionate about Latin, by all means pursue it, but it probably won't do anything other than give you a bit more to draw upon during your interviews.

Major doesn't matter in med school admission. As the name would suggest, "minors" matter even less.
