Latinos stand up!

Hi all, just looking to see who the other Latinos on here are.

And I'd like to know what your foreign language situations are? As in, do you take Spanish, or are you trying to learn something new?

I'm half Latino. So should I, like, stand up halfway? That kind of puts a strain on my quads...>_>

Anyway, I'm in Spanish classes. Mom wasn't able to teach me while I was growing up, due to my dad's objections (I still resent him for that). After I feel competent in the language, I wish to move on to French and then perhaps German.

Ah the fool! Cuss him out in Spanish once you learn eh? Yes and halfway up will do just fine :D

I have a very general question from a Latino's point of view. My friend's mother was born in Argentina, as well as her grandparents, but none of them have any latino blood in them. All 8 of my friend's maternal grandparents were European (Polish for the most part I think) Jews that came over during WW2. Her father is just flat-out Italian. Do you think it's fair that she's putting Hispanic on her applications?

lmao Sungchul. Your friend is not hispanic shes caucasian

Well technically she can, but I'd never consider her Latino.

im from argentina !
GO LATINOS =)

oye chico yo soy de cuba, me encantan los estados unidos, viva celia cruz, vivan los colombiano los velezolano, y el resto de latino, adios

de done eres tu

i can speak a word of latin , therefore i am a latino see "carpe diem"

YA ESSAY KAY PASA

WORD

"carpe diem"
jajaa =)

argentinaa.

Apparently I can only stand up halfway.

Should I remain seated?

Im a peruvian! I'm actually half latino! I was born here though.

Latino females are usually very attractive.
Anyway I am technically part latino.

I'm a latino female :)

You are a latina female.

Question:

I was talking to one of my friends a couple of weeks ago about Afro/Latino Club, and I said something like "I'm going to have to invite some of my Freshman because I have 3 that are Spanish," and she got really offended saying that I shouldn't call them Spanish, I should call them Hispanic.

Well, I've been calling people Spanish for years, but only because my friend who's Peruvian calls herself and others Spanish...So, I never thought that there was a problem with it, but apparently, some people do have a problem with it.

I mean, I have absolutely no authority on this subject since I'm not Latina/Hispanic/Spanish is any way, but I have tons of friends who are!

What are your opinions?

I mean, what do you prefer to be identified as, and if someone calls you Spanish, is that, in your mind, offensive?

I prefer to be identified at Latina (not hispanic, and Spanish just sounds plain uneducated). In any case, even though I speak spanish, I take french. ;)
I figured I might as well learn a new language.

^ Hm. Interesting.

As I said, I'm just wondering about this since my Peruvian friends prefers the use of Spanish, but some of my other friends don't like it.
