do latinos have a good chance of getting into UVA?

i would probably guess so. i'm hispanic/asian and i got in out of state with a 2140 sat (700cr 700m 740w) and a 3.45 gpa. but i also had MAD ec's and other stuff too

a glimmer of hope...

they keep talking about making the college more diverse but im not seeing it

its probably still am advantage though...

Yes, latinos have a good shot at getting into UVA if they have competitive applications. If you're asking if UVA gives big affirmative action boosts to latino applicants, then the answer is no, no they don't. Generally the only groups given any sort of boost on skin color are blacks and native americans.

If you want a good chance of getting in, get great grades, test scores, and have a well-rounded resume.

Dearkonstantine, what part of Virginia are you from?

Never mind dearkonstantine, I read your post incorrectly.

hmm cavalier do you really think so? even though the hispanic population is relatively low at UVa compared to the black/AA population...

haha yeah word up i'm from the ORLANDO 407 represent homie

bo_bombers, yes, I do think that that is so. The numbers support it. Compare admissions data among races in these data tables:

It would seem that no affirmative action boost is given to hispanics.
