Laundry at USC

What do most USC students do when waiting for their laundry? Are there chairs to sit down on in the laundry rooms? Is it a bad idea to quickly go to the gym or leave my laundry unattended? Thanks!

Are you talking in the dorms? If so, it is certainly ok to leave unattended, but if you leave it and someone needs the washer/dryer and it is just sitting there completed, they may take your stuff out and pile it on table or something. At a public laundry place it’s fair game if you aren’t there. :)

Just go back to your room or eat or whatever while its going but I don’t recommend leaving it unattended when finished. If there are no other washers/dryers available, people will definitely take your stuff out and dump it on top of an available surface.

There’s also a laundromat in the UV should you want to do 10 loads at a time. There are some of those (multiple machines) interspersed throughout various dorms / apartments as well. Just make sure you get a bunch of rolls of quarters before you leave… unless they’re now taking USC Card. Any current students want to jump in on that one? Would make sense…

Thanks. To clarify, I will be living in a dorm (Parkside).

From move in guide:

Throughout USC housing, high-speed, individual Ethernet lines and
wireless connections are provided, along with basic cable television.
Rent always includes gas and water costs; electricity costs are
sometimes included. (See pages 7–11 for details.) Laundry facilities
are available on-site in all freshman buildings, operated by either
credit card or USCard–there’s no need to stock up on quarters to
have clean clothes.

They have laundry cards in the dorms now, and you can usually just leave it unattended and come back to grab it when it’s done.

Thanks. Is it still possible to use quarters or do I have to use my card?
