Does each floor (plaza or hall) have laundary facilities? Or is it one central place in each building? Do you carry a laundary bad to and from laundary facilities? Or the launday facilities have tables so that you can fold your clothes?

For non-high rise plazas, there is only one laundry facility per building. There’s usually around 10 washers and 10 drying machines, so there will be enough for non-peak hours. Yes, you carry your laundry to and from the laundry facilities. There are tables there as well.

Halls have two washers and two dryers per floor. No folding tables.

Do you need extra change for laundry or can you use your Bruincard?

There’s 2 types of laundry systems:

In residence halls, they have 2 washers and 2 dryers per floor. You can only use quarters here (no Bruincard, dollars etc.). I’ve found this to be pretty annoying, and it can be hard to find a time where one washer and dryer is open.

In all other buildings (I think), there’s a central laundry area on the first floor (except for Saxon and Hitch which have separate buildings for the central laundry area). Here, there are more washers and dryers (can range from 4 of each to 30 of each), and you use your Bruincard here (can’t use cash). I’ve found this one to be better. There’s usually at least one washer and dryer open (unless its a really big peak time like Sunday afternoon/evening, etc.), and you don’t have to find quarters all the time. Also, if you have multiple loads, then its a lot easier to find 2 washers that are open at the same time so that you can wash both loads at the same time.

During peak times, you’ll never find an available machine. People like save up their laundry and do it all at the same time. I’ve been in a ~11 washing machine room before and all 11 were taken up by only 2 people’s worth of laundry. Ridiculous…

for the plazas, since a bruincard is used for the laundry, does that mean we have to deposit money into our bruincard debt account? I’m guessing we don’t use meal points for laundry…

Yes, you must deposit money into your bruincard account to pay for your laundry in plazas.
