Does anyone plan on using the student laundry service? My parents refuse to pay for it, but I've been thinking of putting some of my own money toward it. I would still have to wash some of my shirts and jeans, but I'm sure the majority of my clothes would be sent to the laundry service. I think it would save a lot of time, since I wouldn't have to do laundry as often. Does anyone have any information/knowledge on how good the service is and how many students use it? Thanks!

Yes, good question!

I know almost no one who does it, for what it's worth. Doing your laundry doesn't take that much time, really; you only need 10 minutes to take your stuff and load it, and 20-25 minutes to take it out and fold it, etc.

I don't like the mental strain of having to remember you have laundry downstairs. Okay, stop laughing. :) I'd much prefer not having to keep track of it, but paying for laundry seems too much of a luxury, especially as the machines are free.

Set a timer on your cell phone or something...
or just bring a book/computer into the laundry room and wait. I don't think doing laundry is that big of a hassle. Just buy a lot of clothes so you don't have to do it as much

Yea, I know it's probably not worth it to pay for the service, but I really hate doing my laundry lol. Thanks for the input, I'll think about it.

I don't use it myself... what with the special care female clothes require (hang dry, gentle, cold wash, etc.) I'd be nervous having mine sent to the (lowest-bidding?) cleaners...

Most of the people I know who use it are guys.

Also, if there is no laundry in your building, you may find having it sent off to be much more convenient.
