Law School Admissions

Hello,

I am a rising junior who has just decided to transfer to another college. I had a 4.0 during two years at my last college, and would like to eventually pursue a joint JD/MBA (if possible) degree.

  1. What GPA/LSAT is expected of candidates who apply to both a top law program, and will the committee consider where I completed my undergraduate degree?
  2. Depending on the program, would the law school admissions committee consider both my previous GPA and whatever GPA I will receive at my current college?

Thank you!

  1. Law school stats are publicly available, and no different for JD/MBA applicants. (Being above both LS means is better.) Top B-schools tend to care more about where you went to undergrad than to top law schools.
  2. All college courses are reported and used to factor in your application GPA.

fwiw: just know that top b-schools prefer a few years of work experience.

Is there a way to find out where my college has placed students? Should I wait until I arrive on campus and visit the office of career strategy?
