Law School (major opinion)

What major do you think best prepares one for law school? I am just interested to hear what everyone thinks.

I want to double major and am wondering what would be good prep.

traditionally, majors such as political science, philosophy, history, English, business, econ are suggested as good prep for law school. Lot of reading, critical thinking, etc.

nonetheless, I would suggest majoring in whatever you want to study and are interested in

You'd want something writing intensive.

Don't however major in Legal Studies or something similar. It is not a major Law schools like to see.

agree with kevl89, and keeping a high GPA is more important than what your major is.

Added to what kevl89 said, physics and mathematics are also a good candidates, but my personal opinion is either economics or philosophy.

There is no advised major for preparing for law school. You could get into law school as a pottery major. All you need to do is have a good GPA and LSAT. A major that helps you develop your critical thinking skills, however, would be the most useful. Those majors generally are really reading and writing intensive. In the end though, law schools don't care.

Altho im no expert in this, most the pre laws in my school are either poli sci or history majors

Average LSAT Scores for 29 Majors with over 400 Students Taking the Exam

whats wrong with Legal Studies?

I doubt they'll be bias based on your major.

Thanks to everyone for the help!
