Hi, everyone! I’m a rising senior in high school hoping to attend Wellesley next year. I’ve wanted to become a lawyer for as long as I can remember (although I know I may very well change my mind while I’m in college), and was wondering what preparation for law school is like at Wellesley. Is there a Pre-Law Society or club of sorts? Are there lots of resources available to help with preparation for LSATs and applying? Do Wellesley students typically go onto top/big-name law schools? Is there a pre-law advisor available?
Thanks in advance
Well, I don’t know the particulars of the clubs, however, Wellesley is an excellent choice for Pre-law. They have a very excellent record of placement and the students are very supported.
Wellesley has a great record of getting its students into law school. They have a pre-law adviser and (I believe) a pre-law society. Their mock trial team is pretty good as well. Also, their law school acceptance rate is about 20% higher than the national average, last time I checked.
I’d say that one of the most important things they do with regards to pre-law, however, is the writing requirement and strong English department. By the time you leave Wellesley, you’ll be able to make a solid argument and explain your thoughts clearly and coherently. That’s key for success in law school.
Feel free to contact me with any further questions! I graduated from Wellesley in 2013 and am always happy to talk about my experiences.
