Law vs. Medicine

<p>I'm still having trouble deciding which one I should pursue as a career, so I'm just wondering if maybe you guys could list the pros and cons for each in the following areas, and then recommend what you think is best for me.</p>

<p>Format:
Answer all of these if possible or most of them:
-Pros of Medicine
-Cons of Medicine
-Pros of Law
-Cons of Law
-Job Security as a doc/dentist vs. job security lawyer
-Salary Potential</p>

<p>recommendation:</p>

<p>Some stuff about me in case this will help you make ur recommendation:
-I'm one of those students that is very good and does really well (at least Bs) in advanced classes, but not the very very best.
-Interests include basically everything. I like to keep an open mind and enjoy all subjects to a certain extent. My predilections however are science and math. My favorite subjects in this are biology and anatomy. I also really like business stuff, so corporate law would be cool as well.
-I love writing research papers about sciency things or about complicated stuff. The whole challenge of research and defending and attacking other people and their statements is very appealing and intellectually stimulating to me.
-Money is a pretty big deal to me actually. I'm hella materialistic and love
to have really nice cars and house , etc. So if there is no, or very little chance for me to earn enough to buy a 45-50k car and 3 story house (where the average house cost in the city is 250k), then I wont consider it.
-I do realize that money isn't the only thing, and so I don't want a job where I'm working so much that I have no time to raise a family and such.</p>

<p>Finally, some people have suggested a couple of ways of combining my interests in law and medicine. IE, become a biotech patent and healthcare lawyer or become a corporate/healthcare lawyer, etc. So if you have any suggestions please help. In fact, any thing no matter how trivial will be appreciated. </p>

<p>Thanks in advance</p>

<p>and then give yourself a chance to actually start college and explore your intersts -- there are other careers out there besides law or medicine that you just may not be familiar with.</p>

<p>you are also going to have to do a better job of figuring out your priorities. long hours are generally the price one has to pay for high income.</p>

<p>I am a materialistic person as well and I have gone thought about those two careers too. Money was one of the biggest factors I considered but soon I realized that without your interest and passion in whatever you are doing, money won't follow you.
In my case taking a bunch of classes didn't give me any insights to the careers that I have been thinking about.
Do a lot of research on each job environment and life styles of professionals. Either law or medicine, both will give you money and nice cars...
Try to choose one that fits your style.
Ask yourself, "Am I going to like reading, writing and talking? or enjoy cutting bones every night?"</p>

<p>My friend completed her graduation from Symbiosis Law School (Noida) and I haven’t seen her happier. She’s minting money like crazy and holds a strong position in the industry. So in case you </p>
