<p>I was wondering what the best major is for application to law school.
I don't want to apply to pre-law because I would lose other options. I have considered political science but it seems like it is too common so it won't seperate me from other applicants. Advice appreciated.</p>
<p>The head of the Law, Jurisprudence, and Social Thought department at my college has said more than once that he believes Physics is the best major for a potential law student.</p>
<p>I know several performance majors (musicians) who have gotten into top law schools. Almost any major that requires you to read and write is fine. The musicians took electives in the liberal arts. The LSAT is a huge part of law school admissions- much more so than your undergraduate major. It just doesn't matter that much.</p>
<p>Law school admissions are metrics driven i.e. GPA and LSAT scores. As long as you major in something that requires legitimate work, one major vs another is not weighed differently by law schools. As MomofWildChild states, even music performance majors (as well as acting/theatre majors) get into decent law schools. LSAT's and GPA, that's what it's all about.</p>
