Interesting: 4/27/09
Deerfeld is Top of their Division A. They are Ranked 8th in the Nation currently.
Middlesex is also Top of their Division C and ranked nationally # 39 above some of the top Div. A schools in New England. They must have just an incredible team this year, AND no PG's!

What is this Division A, Division C you speak of?

Maybe I’m thinking football? Please pardon the old brain.

It’s pretty nasty that Deerfield is able to put together such a strong LAX team and still be so strong academically.

Governor’s Academy is another great LAX team. they were undefeated last year in the ISL. A kid on my LAX team got recruited for football and LAX at Governor’s.

Yep, you’re thinking of Class A etc. in football.

Deerfield (which is pretty strong acroos the board athletically), has built a lacrosse tradition that attracts great players. They have a very good coaching staff and I think the head caoch works in admissions.

Salisbury seems to have righted their ship after an early loss to an excellent Brunswick team, and they clearly have a shot at ruining Deerfield’s perfect season.

One can only hope:)

well, as I’m sure you are aware, the ISL may not allow PG’s but the schools all get around that by taking kids who repeat a grade upon entering. Check out the birthdates of the M’sex team, if you can…

I love Middlesex, having two brothers as graduates I wish them all the best!

clearly has a very good team and improved to7-0 by beating a good Rivers Country Day team. Governor’s Academy is also good.

Don’t think any of them would challenge for a West 1 championship as those schools are larger and have Pg’s.

Rivers beat Govonor’s the other day. Big game.

When you mention national rankings are you talking about rankings just among other prep schools or ALL high schools?

Look at the link supplied by the OP - Laxpower is the website bible for college and HS lacrosse. They rank every boys and girls HS team in the country using both a complicated and sometimes confusing formula as well as some assumptions about league and region strength. Also features a great scoreboard.

The site has goaliegirls team exactly backwards for the 3 games reported and the other 3 wins missing (they are 5-1 right now). Garbage in = Garbage out. Sent in corrections. I’ll see how long it takes them to correct/update.

They put up what the coaches/schools send in. fif follows several leagues and hasn’t seen many errors. Tell the school to fix its reporting…

Dyslexic student reporters obviously!

fif - I don’t think her school is the one doing the reporting as they were missing half the games. Her school isn’t known for its girls lax, so this season is a kind of new experience (although the JV team last year looked very good if that is a predictor). I doubt they are big into the ranking thing.

I also saw a couple of other teams that had misreported scores as well on the girls side.

Honestly, I’m just happy to see goaliegirl have a lot of fun and play well as a starter on the varsity team. If they make the playoffs (BTW how does that work in NE?), it will be great.

Someone’s reporting (or simply not reporting) incorreect scores. Laxpower is a very well run site.

No playoffs in NE prep… Season ends late and then, boom, they’re gone.

No playoffs? Well that is lousy. Oh well.

I sent in an email to George with the corrections and a link to the school’s scores page so he can confirm. That with 3 more wins should move the team up at least 50 positions in NE FWIW.

Got the record straight. And it even moved them up about 150 positions in the rankings (not that they are anywhere near the top). Back to the important stuff…
