Lbw 2012

Hey guys, I just wanted to congratulate those of you who got in! And for those of you who didn’t, just know that there are so many qualified people who don’t get in. I know a few kids myself who got into Wharton but were rejected from LBW.

As for the wait list, most of the kids I met had applied and gotten in originally, but there were definitely a few kids who had been wait listed. So yes, it’s possible to still be accepted!

If any of you have questions about the program, feel free to PM me! I may be slow getting back to you cause I use CC on my phone and for some reason it never lets me reply till I’m on my computer. But I’d love to get in touch with you guys! Good luck :-)

got WLed…does anyone know CCers that were waitlisted---->accepted?

@sarahrose234 Are you sure the group is open and able to be found through search? I can’t find it

I got accepted :slight_smile: unbelievably surprised too. my stats are horrendous, but i’m pretty sure the essay plays a huge role in your acceptance because that’s the only thing i can think of for why i would get in :smiley:
congrats to all those who got in! hope to see you there? and to those who didn’t-- i’m sure you have other programs that would accept you, especially if you’re good enough to be applying to lbw already C:

@joe1795 Whoops! My bad- it’s open now :slight_smile: Let me know if it doesn’t come up

@sarahrose234 I still can’t find it haha. Could you post a link to it?

Yeah I got in as well. But LBW was my backup x 396959484. It’s honestly kind of a dumb program LOL and I have better things to do. :P

Stats:
2360 SAT
240 PSAT
4.0/4.0 GPA
I have hella legit music awards, but I’m not president of any clubs or whatnot. Ive got some leadership but probably not as many as you guys. Eh, who knows. I might not be president of five million clubs but I have faith that I was A strong applicant. And to those of you on the wait list, maybe me not going will be your ticket in.:slight_smile: To those of you who were rejected, LBW is not prestigious at all so don’t worry about it.

<a href=“Wharton LBW 2012 Accepted | Facebook”>Wharton LBW 2012 Accepted | Facebook;

Yes, congratulations to all those accepted! And for those who were waitlisted, some people definitely did get in off of the waitlist last year, I’m just not sure how many.

Accepted :)

Does anybody know the acceptance rate of this year’s program? How many applied and how many got accepted??

accepted!!! i cant believe it!:)

also, @immadinosaur: i would have to disagree with you- saying lbw is not prestigious at all?? that’s a bit much…

Rejected!! I’m going to a summer program in UC San Diego, so no biggie… Congrats to those of you that did get in though!

insomniac93 : that made me feel a little better :slight_smile: i think i can work really hard and MAYBE still get in great schools. not wharton (too high for me considering my fresh, soph stats) but i would still love to go to other schools w strong business classes like cornell or columbia.
the other thing is that i didnt even submit sat scores bc i had not taken them, so if i get great ones (which i know i can) that will boost me too

alejandroMX i was rejected too buddy. youre taking it better than i though.

congrats again to everybodY accepted ! i cant imagine the joy you must feel.

ACCEPTED!!! I’m SO excited!

And to those who were WL’d, after looking at the past threads, the conversion rate to being accepted seems to be quite high.

@aimforthesky

Actually I don think you should let your fresh and soph stats discourage you! It’s really the fact that you improved and ur senior stats are amazing that helps :D

^yeah seriously don’t let your freshman or sophomore grades discourage you. I had more Bs than As those years and was accepted. Of course, I was still able to show my potential with straight As this year and a solid ACT score plus some really really cool ECs.

Accepted.
I didn’t send in any SAT or ACT scores…
GPA: 3.8… I was kind of a screw-off in 9th grade/my grades were NOT impressive. Sophomore and Junior year, I haven’t gotten below an A, so it brought me up.

My essays were good. I wrote about a leadership moment about a music concert where the class of 6th graders i tutored for an entire year performed for their parents. It was really moving for me:]

My ec’s were very good… I run a bunch of different organizations around my school/town… pres of music honor society, pres of young democratic organization, vice pres of class, local newspaper journalist, head organizer for school’s tutoring program, relay for life committee head, awards for speech and debate/MUN, etc.

I’ll be really excited to see all of you next year…
