LBW Wharton 2018

Has anyone received an acceptance or rejection yet? Looks like everyone who received anything were waitlisted, did they send out all waitlists? I’m freaking out lol fully expecting a rejection now that there’s no hope for waitlist…

rip rejected

oof me too

yikes me too

Just got waitlisted. Does anyone know the chances of being accepted off the waitlist? And for anyone else who got waitlisted I’d be willing to post my stats so we can all compare I guess haha.

Waitlisted rip

@EashB354, did you ge the email just now or did it come earlier. Trying to understand how the emails are coming through

didnt get anything yet

Accepted! Let me know if you want me to post my stats!

ACCEPTANCE IM CRYING WHAT guys. You don’t need business experience to get accepted. I literally have 0 experience in business and my essay about a relationship was about me and my dad, which I worried would be literally every essay ever. So stay true to yourself… and just write what is truly the most important relationship to you. There’s nothing such as cliche.

I will post my stats that I wrote for my chance me post just because I know I like to see other ppl’s stats… hope this helps.

GPA: 3.85 uw(~3.7 first two years but now 4.0 and will maintain 4.0 next year, I just wanna kick my freshman and sophomore self…)
New SAT: 1570(800 math 390 reading 380 grammar) 23 on essay (one point off for reading I think, can’t remember which one)
Haven’t taken subject or APs yet, will take them this May. Current AP classes: Calc BC, Chem and literature. Schedule for next year: AP physics, AP stats, multi/linear algebra, AP French, AP art history, AP compsci A.

Summer activities: past two years I have interned at a lab in Columbia University’s institute of human nutrition under two Columbia professors researching the hydrolysis rate of emulsions of MCT and LCT compared to simply mixing the two together and their effects on the inflammatory system.

ECs: Vice-president of presidential service award verified organization IMPACT, presidential service award bronze medalist, interned at a Chinese social media technology corporation for 3 years (mainly through online communication. I help run a video channel in China with 2 million subscribers, not sure if this counts for anything.) student conductor of school chorus (did not write), part of selective singer group (10 out of 100-200 students in chorus), founder and president of photography club (did not write), creator of school-wide photography contest (did not write), math club co-president, help found the school-wide math contest, ensemble in two years of school winter musical, school robotics team marketing subgroup, vice-president of Chinese-culture club (did not write), school blue-key tour guide (kind of means a tour guide leader, but also did not write…)

Jobs and internships: the two internships at Columbia lab and Chinese corporation I have mentioned, and a paid job for a month (it was short) as a digital designer for the webpage of a shop with ~700,000 customers. Unfortunately the shop has closed and the website is no longer available but I think I still have the photoshop files of my designs? I’ll have to dig around. In addition, I did paid portrait retouches for a show in China similar to American idol, by one of the biggest television companies in China. (The last two I did not write.)

State: New Jersey
Ethnicity: Chinese (but I am an American citizen)
Income: medium-high
Gender: female

@yaoqian woah! Your stats are amazing, and make me wonder how I got accepted. I hope to meet you there!

did anyone get rejected yet???

I got it earlier

Yes, what are your stats? If you don’t mind me asking

I just called them. They said about 80 ppl were waitlisted and 160ish accepted from the 920 applicant pool. Waitlisted ppl will find out their decision within the next 3 weeks, most likely.

Asian male from the midwest. Did not request financial aid.

GPA: 3.95 UW
ACT: 36
SATII: 800 Math II, 800 US History
Very rigorous course load, 9 AP’s by the end of junior year. I’ve also dual-enrolled in calc III, linear algebra, stats I & II (3rd year stats-major only courses), and discrete structures at the state flagship university.

Extracurriculars
President and founder of UNICEF Club, team captain of Junior Engineering Society (nationally ranked), co-leader of Mu Alpha Theta, volunteering at VA hospital and the homeless shelter, varsity HS swimming, club swimming, and some others.

Summer activities: 9th grade: Awesomemath summer camp. 10th grade: self-taught Python

My ECs aren’t exceptional, so I’d say my essays probably got me in. They weren’t beautifully written and my why LBW essay was pretty generic, but I wrote my relationships essay about my relationship with the veteran community, which I thought was pretty unique.

SEE Y’ALL IN JULY FOLKS! I GOT ACCEPTED! @yaoquin those are some amazing stats, can’t wait to see you there! Also, for those who got in, do y’all wanna make a Facebook Group of sorts?

Just got accepted. International from Kenya.

@EashB354 Hi! where’d you get their number?

@rocky2308 yes that would be amazing! I think in the email they included an official fb group link but the RTAs and parents and other people are probably gonna be in there also so it would be nice if we make our own haha. Should I make it and just post the link here? I’m new to CC lol not sure how it usually goes.
