<p>DS just got accepted to the LEAD Engineering Program at U Virginia this summer. He is really happy. Anybody else going or have attended this one? Any comments?</p>
<p>At first we thought is was free, but it looks like there a $1150 cost. It does says that there is financial aid. Most likely he won't qualify, but will apply nevertheless. Anyway the cost is not too high for 3 weeks at a premier school.</p>
<p>My son also applied, but hasn’t heard yet one way or the other. Did your son get the notification through e-mail or regular mail?</p>

<p>There is one wave of acceptances and them a second wave for alternates. I suggest you call Lead directly. They are quick to answer.</p>
<p>Never mind! The called me yesterday to inform me that I got accepted. Apparently they sent a letter AND an email but I received neither. I got into UMichigan…what about you guys?</p>

My S is a junior, we live in TN.</p>

<p>There was a conference call yesterday for LEAD UVA parents (of participants). Facebook is still to be setup, but nothing yet. My D will be at the program. We are in MD.</p>
<p>I was at the conference call too. Not a lot of details around the schedule. Son is very excited and looking forward to next week. Looks like there is going to be a very diverse group and staying at one of the best residence halls in UVA. If you want to PM we can try to get teh keeps to start exchanging notes. I’m sure they have the same type of questions.</p>
