My son was accepted into the LEAD Engineering program at Villanova University. Does anybody know if the program is good and worth going to?

LEAD is one of the best programs out there. Both of my children attended it. One for business and the other for Computer Science. She also has friends who did the Villanova engineering one. LEAD has opened many doors for my children including LEAD nominating my DD to be a world-wide ambassador for Google. The people who run LEAD are extremely caring about their students. If my DD applied to a LEAD college then LEAD called their contacts at that college to encourage them to accept my DD (which they did).

In my DD’'s LEAD Program two have been accepted to Harvard; 1 to Stanford; 3 to MIT; 1 to Princeton; 3 to Michigan; 3 to Georgia Tech etc. If it were my child I would not pass up the opportunity. They get 100’s of applications. Your child should be honored to be selected.

Thanks itsv for your response. I had heard about TASP, RSI, SAMS etc. and how prestigious those programs are. I could not find any info about LEAD. Your comments have been very helpful.

I was not aware LEAD programs were so highly regarded. DS gets repeated mail solicitations from them. Sounds like we should be looking at them.

Just be wary of the LEAD program solicting you. The programs I am talking about are those listed on the website www.leadprograms.org Other for-profit companies try to trade on LEAD’s reputation and sent out mail solicitations with names similar to LEAD’s. LEAD started at the Wharton School of Business in the early 1980’s. In 2008 they added engineering and then in the last few years have added Computer Science and Global Studies.

Those are the only LEAD programs I am talking about. When my DS was at Northwestern LEAD he receive a special application for admission to Michigan. On the front was the word LEAD Applicant.

That URL brings me to an ad for Vistaprint websites.
