Leadership Experience vs. Work Experience

Hello,

I read the pinned post at the top of the page bu still was left with some questions. One thing I noticed in there was a lot of discussion as to why someone would want an MBA. I am looking at Chicago schools (primarily Loyola) which offers a dual degree M.B.A./M.S.I.M.C. - Integrated Marketing Communications.

I am 23 years old Wednesday and have just graduated with a B.A. in Advertising & Public Relations.

I first entered my undergrad work as an education major before I became very involved with the business aspect of organizational work on campus and had a change of heart and switched to a Interdisciplinary Communications focus. I understand that an MBA without major work experience could still not help with recruiters or the job market, however, I would be very interested in using it to teach at the high school or college level (given proper certification).

Here is my dilemma: throughout school I elected to work simple serving jobs in the summer to accumulate money to help with rent/books during the school year while devoting most of my time to organizations on campus.

I graduated with a 3.0 and am looking to enroll in 4 more classes at a local college to get some classes waived if I can enroll in a MBA program (I'm looking at Loyola and Depaul) which I could bump my GPA even higher.

My question is with a solid score on the GMAT do you think it would be at all possible to be accepted given my little work experience but the abundance of leadership positions I have held? I have managed groups from 30 to over 100 as well as managed budgets of 36k-150k during my time in in undergrad and I am just hoping my decision to remained swamped with leadership roles will not negatively effect my chances at grad school.

Leadership Positions:

LeaderShape Graduate
Fraternity Presidents Academy of Leadership Graduate
Leadership Institute Graduate
Programming Board President
Programming Board Vice President 2 years (Allocated 40k to differing org's)
Student Government Representative & Team Building Chair
Vice President/Treasurer Spiritual Life Council
Habitat For Humanity President (Managed budget and planned trip of over 100 to New Orleans for a week to assist in rebuilding efforts)
Fraternity President & Vice President
Founding President of a Greek Leadership Council
Interfraternal Council President

Any response or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Dan
