Hey all,

Applications are out now. I have been wanting to attend since last summer, and really hope I will be able to attend this summer.

I know it is really expensive, so my question is: Is it worth it?

Hey all,

Applications are out now. I have been wanting to attend since last summer, and really hope I will be able to attend this summer.

I know it is really expensive, so my question is: Is it worth it?

Let's discuss!

honestly, dont go… not worth all that money (1/5 of a years college tuition!!!)
Friend went there last year, said that it was mediocre. Just find an internship near your city or something (for free!)

read the 2009 thread. it was really helpful for me to make a decision. i just paid the 75$ application fee this morning so looks like i’ll be applying this year.

I am also interested in applying. Do you have to fill in everything on the first page minus the essay before paying the application fee?

@itshelenmelon I was wondering that too, so I’m probably going to email them to find out. I’ll let you know.

Any other thoughts on this? And how is LBW compared to LEAD?

misterkevinsun: did you by any chance find out?

This program looks pretty legit from the website, but what is it actually like? I don’t want to pay 5000+ bucks if it’s not a good program…

@itshelenmelon: Hey, there’s an address in the FAQ that explains the process.

[Leadership in the Business World](http://precollege.wharton.upenn.edu/lbw/faq.html)

Still no responses… The 2009 thread was really active. =

I’m hoping to apply too! The application looks pretty short, due in March. What kind of business experience do you guys have at your school?(FBLA, etc)

And it is really expensive…$5400. I thought prestigious programs were suppose to be cheaper because you can get scholarships?

This program looks sooo amazing. Have you guys finished the leadership essay yet? I’m still not sure what to write for it. And is it a 1-3-1 essay cause it seems kinda short?

anyone know when the application is due? (exact date)

I think its March 7th, and then like they give u 1 more week for the mailed material

Thanks. Also, i’m getting a bit nervous because there’s no “submit” button on the online application… what if I want to submit it early? Does anyone know why this is?
Will they automatically take in all the applications on March 7?

I did LBW 2009 it was a great experience. Trust me it is very under-publicized but the program is definitely worth the money. If money is a problem you can also apply for financial aid. The head RTA Anisha Atluri was my RTA last year she’s amazing too.

Did anyone take a look at the updated LBW website???
Apparantly as of 2010 there’s a LBW East (at UPenn) and LBW West at Wharton’s campus in San Fran.
Which one are you guys applying to!? I have no idea.

East, i live on the east coast so yea. How do you send in test reports? Do they just want a printout of SAT scores or something?

that makes sense since you live on the east coast. i’m still undecided.
as for the SAT scores, i’m just sending a photocopy of my official scores. if you’re unsure you should e-mail them, they’re pretty helpful.

Well, I’ve narrowed down my choices to LBW, M&TSI, and LEAD. Does anyone know why the programs are so expensive? I live right next to UPENN (my sister goes there for medical school), but they still require me to board there.

Is there any substantial benefit from going to one of those programs that makes the money worth it?

Are you guys doing 1-3-1 essays? It seems a bit short for that and i was considering doing just 2 body paragraphs

Haven’t started yet. I’m progably going to apply to East even though i’m from California. Deadline is March 1 for apps and March 7th for score reports, etc.
