Leadership in the Business World (LBW) at Wharton

Haha it kinda is like college apps. It will be a blow to my confidence to apply to ivy league if I get rejected =(

Yeah, plus the fact that the program will obviously help your admission odds if accepted to LBW doesn’t hurt!

i’ve read this thread for a couple days…and now i’m joining in…
i applied too…
ackk so nerve racking…

lol gotta love the lurkers actually joining…

Btw for everyone…I had my Penn tour today. For anyone who lives somewhat close to it, if you haven’t toured…go. Now. For anyone who lives nowhere close. Go now too.

It is D O P E

The prospect of being there for a month and taking classes in huntsman is euphoric

Ahh you are getting me too excited! Don’t say anything else like that, I don’t want to be more disappointed than I will be when I get results :/

mno1234: Since your no longer a lurker, care to share what kind of competition we have from you? haha

my friend sent me postcards from upenn last summer, and the campus looks GORGEOUS.

i’m constantly checking my email 3-4 times a day hoping for an e-mail about LBW >.<

alluric: yay! someone else is from the bay area! what region do you live in?

Speaking of lurkers…

haha, hey guys. This is Diana from Shanghai, China:)
I can’t waitttt till the 24th, which technically is in 5 hours for me. But you guys will still be on the 23rd…so, we’ll see.

I visited the campus last summer, amazing. Love the fact that it’s by a city! :D

p.s. Our prom is this saturday, and it’s going to be on the 93rd floor of this new skyscraper in Shanghai :open_mouth: I’ve been waiting for this weekend for wayy too long.

Yeah, Dave Matthews Band tomorrow night, so if I get the bad news tomorrow at least I’ll have something to get my mind off of it, haha.

And yes, having a blackberry is helpful, except every email I get I freak out, ha.

Diana: What building? I may have been there I’ve spent quite a bit of time in China and Shanghai!

Blackberrys are whack

iPhone is pure dominance :)

and I just got the notification of ur post emailed and hoped it was LBW lol

Josh, I agree, I have the Storm and it is utter crap right now. Turns off every half hour and takes 15 minutes to reboot. If only they fixed the software it would be good.

We are getting off topic, ha. If only the results came right at midnight by email… I would be so happy!

Hey, hows it going. I am Avi from the USVI. I applied to the LBW program too, i didnt know about this thread til today haha which kinda sucks, but it would be sweet to get in. My psat dont really compare to everyone else so far but i have a high gpa and alot of extra currics so we’ll see. Has anyone found out yet? And blackberries are sick

Nope, no one I have talked to… I wish!! I am tired of waiting! So Avi, what’s your gpa like? Curious about the competition haha

haha i have a 4.3 but im not sure if thats weight not weighted cumulative just my gpa i have gotten for junior year so far and i havent had the chance to take SATs or ACTs because i was doing the school play day of SAT and in a golf tournament day of ACT but im registerd for the may sat and all… definitely not excited… how about you

Lol long sentence right there…
And my gpa (better now but what was sent to LBW) was 3.66UW/4.46W

If you have 4.3 UW…(at least at my school) would mean you’ve probably gotten a total of about 2 questions wrong in all of high school…which is obviously impressive

And golf tournament I like that…do you have a USGA index?

its prolly weighted then. i left all that to my school counselor, i have the highest gpa in my grade so i didnt worry about it to much. i didnt realize it was so competitive. well the tournament was just a local tournament as a qualifier to see who plays on the usvi team against all the other islands. thats about all that is offered here for golf so i dont have a usga index haha but on our home course which is pretty tough i have a 7 handicap.

nice nice…that sucks there isn’t more opportunity you’d probably be nassty lol

I’ve hovered around a 10 for the past couple years…living in Boston doesn’t cater to golf cuz it’s really 5 months of the year I can’t play so it takes a while to get it back again in April

ya i totally understand. thats the good thing its never cold here lol, but one of my good friends went up to mass for a private school and he was a great golfer down here but just lost interest because he wasnt able to play as much.

do you know how they are going to let us know whether we are in or not? cuz i check my email all excited and seeing nothing about lbw is such a buzz kill

hey i just checked the some of my old email and they said decisions will be made by tomorrow so we might not find out which sucks… hopefully they use emails

Ha well I didn’t even know it was possible to have an UW over 4.00… how does that work?

And I have a 4.00UW/4.55W, but I am only 20/360ish, so there’s my downside. But I did get a 32 on my first ACT attempt, so that is helpful I hope.

I need the results to come out tomorrow! I am withholding acceptance to MMLA until I hear back from LBW, and need to know ASAP!!

you have a 4.00/4.55 and your 20 damn man that kinda sucks. i guess thats the upside of going to a school with only 40 kids in the grade
