I am excited to be a new member of College Confidential!

I just wanted to start this thread because I noticed that no one had started one for the LBW program at Wharton for summer 2014. I am currently applying and I thought it would be nice to connect with other that are in my position.

Just as a darter, you can post your stats (PSAT, SAT, ACT, GPA, etc.) and maybe how you are going about the essay. Stuff like that, or any questions you have for other people applying.

Also, if you are applying to any other great summer programs, I'd love to hear about them. I am wondering what else is out there, too!

Hi! Ok -and i was wrong I meant 120 students, 60 at each campus. Also for the app do you know if you can add more than 3 ECs or awards? Or do you have to just choose 3 because that’s all the space that is given.

If you are accepted, you are not required to go (but you should).

Last year, over 700 people applied. 60 boys and 60 girls are selected.

I have taken the SAT in October for the first time as a Junior and got a 2210 (CR 680 M 730 WR 800). It doesn’t seem to me a very satisfying score, but should I submit it anyway?

If so, how exactly can I upload the “score report”? Should I scan the mailed hard copy?

I’m currently enrolled in AP macroeconomics (but no micro) and AP language and composition and plan to get the two recs from those classes. Which classes are you getting your teacher recs from?

hi,
should teacher references best be the teacher that is currently teaching you? In grade 10, I had a math teacher that taught me gr 11 functions but currently, I have a different teacher teaching advanced functions. My older teacher will likely be able to write a much better reference, as I have been in many of her classes, but will it look bad to take an older one over a more current one?

I’m applying this year. I don’t expect to get in b/c there are tons of much stronger applicants, but I’d suppose it’s always worth a shot to apply. I guess I’ll list my stats:

232 PSAT (80M, 80W, 72CR)
AP Scholar with Honor (sophomore)
President of Science Club
Distinguished Finalist at State DECA Conference
International Karate Awards
Started a nonprofit that has raised over $30,000 for underprivileged children in rural Asia
Started a nonprofit tutoring business that is in the works of organizing a math contest for local underprivileged youth

@sr97329: I don’t think there’s any prior business experience or knowledge necessary for the program. I’d assume just strong leadership skills. You should be fine :)

I’m also applying, I’ll list my stats later once I know which I’m submitting, but more importantly, what are you guys writing for your essays? Personally, I love my essays, they were very different than the typical business essay, but I’d like to know what everyone else is doing?
