Leadership Institute @ Brown + Internship concern

Hi, I'm a rising senior and I am currently looking into the Leadership Institute summer program at Brown University. I've heard that this program doesn't really boost my application in any way, and I know that some people might say "you have better things to do in summer than to waste your money on an expensive summer program that won't even help you a lot," but what I'm actually hoping to gain from this program is pure experience on the campus of my dream school (Brown is my first choice school)...and I also think living on campus would later help me write my essay for Brown!
What I'm really worried about is – how is the age group for this program in general? I'm kinda scared that I would be the only rising senior in the program..Would I be able to find people of my own age? If anyone's been into this program before, please tell me about anything you know!

p.s. The summer program in Brown won't be the only thing I do this summer. I already have an internship position secured in my own country, even though it's going to be for only about a month.....Is one month too short for interning?

If you’ve got the money, it could help you decide if you really want to go to Brown. They will want to admit people who have a sense of the place. On the other hand if money is an issue, don’t waste it. Find things that will help you confirm what you like to do.

I’m doing this program as a rising junior, I’m not sure how many seniors are doing it. What I hope to gain from it is skills that will help me in junior year and help me to step it up, so it might be a bit late for you if that is one of your goals since you will be applying to schools soon. Writing your essay on it for Brown and showing why it is your first choice will probably help you since colleges appreciate the interest, especially if you apply EA or ED. Think of the program as more enrichment than a valuable part of your resume because it, sadly, won’t be considered all that much.
