I'm a sophomore at a HS on the east coast and I have good grades, a rigorous schedule, and I play a sport. I'm slated to go to a decent research camp this summer. I write for the school paper. I'm involved in numerous clubs but I really don't have a leadership position. I also don't think I'm going to get one in the next two years because my school is so competitive that every leadership position has like 10+ people running for it, and I'm not great with public speaking, though I'm not too bad with interviewing. My ECs are a bunch of participation and no awards... So I feel like I'm a classic study-but-do-nothing-else to colleges... any advice? How important are leadership positions?
