Leadership positions?

I'm not incredibly concerned about leadership positions (I'm only a rising sophomore), but I'll only have one next year. And I'm not INCREDIBLY interested in the club; just a bit. How do some people have so many leadership positions? Are they just getting them for college or do they actually have all those interests and all that extra time?

bump…

…

I’m actually interested in the clubs I’m in. Leadership positions come naturally for me though, its either elections or a teacher promoted me. Sometimes you just have 1 club you are very interested in and you branch out into other related activities. If you’re a sophomore I don’t think you should worry about leadership positions yet though.

i only have on leadership position…and luckily it’s for an EC that actually enjoy…the other ones are okay since it feels so time consuming…don’t worry. I think you should only worry about having leadership positions in the ECs that you’re good at and enjoy,

Exactly, your passion will shine through on your essays if you do something you like. That’s better than having a wide spread with no passion.

Well I’m a rising sophomore as well. I’m going to be vice president of my grade and president of the community service club. I’m really passionate about both. I’d listen to the other posters on this thread…do what you like because if you don’t then you’ll be bored nad overwhelmed with the heaps of work that come with being in a leadership position of something you don’t like. Best of luck =D
