I was just wondering, how important are leadership roles in the admissions process at CU? Would great ecs and a few leadership roles make up for a decent avg (92-93) and a mediocre sat score (1900-2000)?

What is "great ecs and a few leadership roles"? Did you join 12 clubs and become the VP of the Basketweaving Club and the Secretary of The World is Flat Club? Most applicants to Columbia have some shown some leadership, so being an officer of a couple clubs isn't going to stand out one bit. Your numbers are obviously on the low side, so you'll need something really good.

Well i was actually using those numbers as examples. I was just asking the question so I could get a feel of how important ecs were. Well so far Im SO treasurer and im part of a RSAC and CSAC (Chancellor's Student Advisory Council) Im hoping to get a recommendation from the chancellor when snr year rolls around. And nope, not in a thousand clubs or anything. Im planning to run for Arista President and I guess that would be it.

ECs are tremendously important. Your ECs sound generic at best. You need to stand out.

Any examples?

So im guessing a person with 2400Sat, perfect sat2s and aps and 100+ weighted avg but one or two measley ecs would probably get rejected from columbia and other top colleges?

I would say that's an accurate statement...
