I am currently in year 10, and I am very interested in going to West Point. I just wanted to know what type of leadership roles or what type of extra curricular programs i should be doing. If you have any tips let me know of anything just in general that would help thanks!

Positions of leadership.

student gov't, clubs

Girls State. Contact your local American Legion post when you get to the States. Girls/Boys State participation= mucho leadership points. On top of that, there couldn't be a better way for someone like you to learn about the American political system.

Captain of Varsity sports team.

Sounds like you are switching school and countries!
Most high schools pick class/club officers in the spring and even appoint/elect captains from last years members - in my d's school you even have to be a senior to be a team captain.

Dont let that deter you though - lots of places to show leadership.
Organize something - start a new club for something that interests you at your new school.
Join a service club and organize a project. Even "little" things count. Be creative. Think outside the box. The point is to be ACTIVELY involved and have responsibility in doing it. Don't just count hours filling bowls at the soup kitchen. Find a need in your new school or community and fill that need.
