Hi CC Community. I have a very serious concern about my chance of admission being sabotaged. My school just recently posted a blog detailing all of their top students’ acceptances in the Early Action cycles, including mine. Would college normally check the school’s website and if they saw this, would it hinder my chance during the Regular Decision cycle?
Do you think I should talk to the PR Team at the school to remove my name from the blog?
PS: The school’s blog gave detail of my full name and all the colleges I got accepted to during EA.
No, colleges won’t be reading your school’s blog. They really do have better things to be doing. And- every AO reading an RD application assumes that you have applied elsewhere as well.
Even if they somehow did find out (unlikely), If you have written your ‘why us’ essay well, they will assume that your EAs are your safeties and they are your real choice
That’s assuming that your acceptance(s) are Early Action, ofc, NOT Early Decision. If you have an ED acceptance and haven’t pulled your other applications, you should be doing that now.
If you don’t want your name publicized absolutely ask the school to take your name off the website. That’s a privacy issue, not a ‘sabotage’ issue.
No. This is not a problem.
All colleges are aware that students apply to multiple schools. And why would they take time to look at your high school’s blog?
You seem to want things to worry about. Focus on your grades and enjoy your last year of high school. Don’t find imaginary reasons to fret.
@Lindagaf @collegemom3717 Thank you for your replies. I think I just got overanxiety.
