Learning disability in the admissions process??

I’ve recieved really high grades for all of my high school career and I have all advanced or AP classes, with lots of leadership. I know colleges are looking for diversity in their student body, does anyone know if they count disabilities as some sort of diversity in the student body? I’m wondering if it could help me stand out (I have no hooks). My standardized testing scores are high, but not exceptional, so I’m wondering if telling a college about my learning disability could help them see all that I’ve accomplished despite having the disability. Thanks. My learning disability granted me extended time on standardized tests, so it’s serious.

No, it won’t count as “diversity” at all. Many kids with many different types of disabilities (including various learning disabilities, physical disabilities etc.) go to college.

Certainly your learning disability can be part of your essay but you should focus on how your disability has made you the person you are today etc. rather than having it be a “poor me” type of essay.
