Learning to love dorm life

Hey guys, I’m starting college at University park in the fall, and I am already dreading having to live in the dorms. Sharing that tight of a space with someone (I hear their dorms are way small) and the fact that you have to do everything in a public bathroom and wash clothes with public washing machines all just really grosses me out, and I can’t really see myself liking it at all. If someone could maybe give me some pointers or some upsides to living in dorms that’d be really helpful, thanks!

living in the dorms is really not a big deal! laundry can definitely be annoying sometimes but definitely don’t sweat it. you’ll get used to it in no time! and living in the dorms on campus can be really fun and a much easier way to meet people, try not to go into dorm living with an super negative mindset about it. you get used to it and it won’t bother you after like a week

I’ve never lived anywhere but South, so I don’t know about the other dorms, but here at least the rooms aren’t that small. Some buildings on campus have renovated bathrooms which form a cluster where there is a shower, toilet, and sink per room. Public washing machines – I don’t see the problem. Presumably you share your washing machine with other people at your house.
