Leather messenger bag for college?

Something like that one^

Agree with Pizzagirl that Coach is very good quality–also, to the best of my knowledge, they will fix or replace it if the hardware fails (which is unlikely).

But OP, you really don’t have to get your knickers in a twist over strangers on the internet responding to an admittedly vague question. You will ALWAYS get opinions here that you may not want to hear.

20 - That is nice - very classic. I like the brown leather.

I love brown leather. It may not be something that I get now, but more so "get it if I see the right o

I have a Coach purse and it lasted maybe all of a month. I need to have the hardware fixed. I didn’t use it that often so I was disappointed in the style being so weak.

This thread took a very judgmental turn. For most of my time in college, I carried my books in a Prada nylon bag, and Longchamp was very common on campus. I don’t think any other students will care that much what you carry. Whatever makes you happy.

I like the look of the bag you posted. It’s classic, but it’s also a style that’s currently “in”. I do have concerns that it might be heavy, especially with books, papers, and potentially a computer inside. I would try the bag out before buying it.

When I was in the Air Force, our (female officers) bags were Coach. But their leather IS heavy.

My concern is the fact that, in my opinion, someone is more likely to steal your Coach messenger bag than they would a Jansport one. But that’s just my speculation, of course.

I prefer a backpack, more convenient and the weight evenly distributes on your shoulder as opposed to a messenger bag
