Leaving iit/aieee preparation. ->concentrate only on sat stuff?

Why is everyone here comparing the JEE to the SAT? They’re not in the same league, seriously. Not in terms of difficulty, or even importance. About the JEE prep, stick with it if you’re enjoying it. Otherwise no point. Same goes for the olympiads. Just showing up for the NSEP doesn’t demonstrate ‘passion’ for physics, sorry. In fact I know intl olympiad medallists who still didn’t get in to some ‘top’ colleges. And non-olympiad people who did. So there’s no one path, do what works for you. ‘Passion’, that highly overused word, means just doing what you enjoy, wholeheartedly. It really IS that simple. Oh and about the time. It’s a lot of work, sure, but I managed to balance things and I only decided to apply in September/October. So it’s not too late yet  Another piece of free unsolicited advice (the worst kind, I know) - enjoy the process. This is the one time so many people (ie colleges) are actually interested in finding out all about you, what makes you tick, what you enjoy. You sound majorly stressed out, don’t be. It’s not that difficult, it’s not that big of a deal, really. Just…have fun with your application, with your JEE prep, it’s easiest that way :)

^Really, really well said :)

hey i just got into 11th and really interested in computer science ( specially operating systems) , will anyone suggest some ECs for me on that…

Any advice for late bloomers like me who haven’t yet decided what I want to have as a major.
P.S.: I am a sophomore with not many ECs… coz I am from a really really small industrial town in Oman and have moved to around 5 different places in my last 15 yrs…
Thanks in advance!!!
