Legacies at Wesleyan

I’m planning on applying regular decision to Wesleyan soon, and I’m a legacy - my mother attended the college. On the Common Application, under the Family tab of Questions, it asks : “Have any relatives (other than parents or siblings) ever attended Wesleyan University?”. This confuses me, as I don’t see another place to indicate that my mom went there.

Can anyone explain how the legacy thing works at Wesleyan? Thanks.

In the parent and sibling information areas of the Common App it asks for their colleges, so the Wesleyan question is just asking for additional relatives who may have attended.

I agree that this is odd b/c most other schools do ask (again) for any relatives, including parents.

Yes, on Vassar’s app we encountered the same issue. My son was unable to list his father. We figured they already had the info from the parents’ section and that was why they did not ask for it again. So we added his cousin to that section and trusted they would see that his dad went there from the other part.
Williams, however, asked for the parent info in both sections.

That makes sense, thanks everyone.
