Legacies??

I was wondering if anyone knew how important Brandeis considers legacies for undergrad admissions… my dad, uncle, and 2 aunts were Brandeis alumni and i was wondering if it well help my chances? please let me know. thanks.

It can help… have they been “active” alumni?
This doesn’t necessarily mean financial contributions. Have any of them been active in the Alumni Association, Alumni Admissions Council, etc.?

If so, you should have an interview and discuss their alumni involvement and your relationship to it.

DH and I are both alumni, and D was admitted with a substantial Alumni & Friends award–it’s very clear to me she would never have made it if she weren’t a double legacy. We are both very inactive alumni–can’t afford to donate and don’t participate in alumni events–so it seems that wasn’t a factor. (In the end, D turned down Brandeis, decided she didn’t care for the vibe, hated the look of the campus and had heard negative things about her planned major–so someone out there who got in off the waiting list, you’re welcome!)
