How much of a chance does a legacy applicant who was deferred ED have in the regular decision round?

3.14159%

Duh.

well, i would assume they’re still categorized as a deferred applicant, which is around 10%. i was also deferred from columbia. i really hope we both get in :)

I was deferred too…

Columbia’s is the first decision I’m checking on Wednesday cause I’m pretty sure it’ll be a rejection bleh

I have heard that often legacys are routinely deffered and then taken RD.
There are colleges who waitlist legacys as a courtesy as well.

I wanted to bump this thread and ask if anyone else knows if what PlentyQuestions said is true?

Examine the question yourself College: obviously SOME legacies who get deferred get in later in RD. Also some get outright rejected. Some non-legacies get deferred and later get in. Many also get rejected. I doubt you’ll find any particular pattern

The WL feature for legacies has been oft-discussed. Wouldn’t surprise me though
